Navigating Behavior Problems
|
Every teacher, parent or child care provider has had an interaction with a child like that seen in the video to the left. Oftentimes, parents and professionals are confronted with scenarios with limited knowledge on how to best approach the situation and modify the child's behavior to achieve positive outcomes. Children with disabilities present an especially challenging element to the equation of undesirable behavior. This website was created for a graduate level course based on topical group research with the intention of acting as a resource for parents, teachers, and colleagues. Contained within are three different pages to provide resources to help, parents specifically, deal with behavior problems. You will find ways to transfer effective methods from school to home, how to enlist siblings to modify and teach appropriate behavior to children with disabilities, and alternative methods for behavior modification.
